MAC Lipstick Haul!

This is a post I have had planned for a while and I FINALLY got around to getting photos and everything for it prepped!

Disclaimer: Now, by NO means do I consider myself a beauty blogger by doing this.
(Although I read some absolutely incredible beauty blogs on the regular, I'm looking at you Caroline @Iridescent Places, Kay @Shoes and Glitter, Sonja @Troves and Roses, Megan @Life with MCM. You beauty gurus are amazing.)

Look, I like makeup, and I'm semi-decent at it. That's literally my current state.

I don't properly experiment with it a whole lot, but on the rare occasions that I do, I enjoy it...
but only if it works out well :P
Am I the only girl out there who takes a HUGE sigh of relief once their eyes are done,
cause to me the rest is easy and MUCH more failproof :P
(Eyeliner, mascara, eyeshadows can be so. scary. And they sense the fear. :P)

Slow and steady girls, slow and steady. :P

Anyways, I do love how simply and beautifully lipsticks can add to makeup looks!
Before I travelled to India last year (you can read about that here!), I had already decided that on the way back I would make the most of duty free shopping in Singapore airport and...

BUY.
MY.
FIRST.
MAC.
LIPSTICKS.
(EVER!)
:O

I know, I know, very late to the game, but exciting nonetheless!

So without further ado,

My first three black bullets.

Love.

From left to right: Dubonnet, Ruby Woo, Hot Gossip.

Let's go through them, shall we? ☺️

MAC DUBONNET
Amplified Creme Lipstick
My mum picked this colour out and how gorgeous is it!
This deeper red lipstick is so creamy and has a beautiful sheen.

MAC HOT GOSSIP
Cremesheen Lipstick
I had gone into MAC wanting a mauve-y, everyday, my lips but better shade.
This didn't end up being it, but it is oh so pretty!
I think it's a very angelic kind of pink and man,
does this lipstick have some pretty sparkle and shimmer through it!
I have to add, this one feels SO incredibly moisturising & hydrating, almost like putting a lip balm on!

MAC RUBY WOO
Retro Matte Lipstick
Ahhh, so I had decided I was definitely going to pick this one up after hearing all about it from beauty bloggers and vloggers everywhere.
This is known as MAC's Famous Ruby Woo, the red lipstick that is universally flattering and works on every complexion possible.
And I have to say - I am super impressed by it, incredibly matte and a striking red!

Now I'm going to pretend to be all professional beauty blogger and swatch them for you :P

(From bottom to top: Dubonnet, Ruby Woo and Hot Gossip)

And there we have it! The beginning of my MAC Lipstick collection!

I hope you guys liked this post, I thought it would be fun for me to document my first MAC Lipsticks. Plus, I love posts like this from other beauty bloggers and since I finally had some new beauty products - I thought I would give it a go!

I'm a sucker for people doing posts or videos with lip colour swatches,
I'm always hunting for the perfect shades!

What's your favourite shade out of these? Do you own MAC lippies, what's your personal fave?

New blog post will be up next Tuesday!!!

  1. Raashi, you look incredible! I love the shade of all three but the Mac Hot Gossip looks amazing! I love pink lipsticks and it looks like the perfect shade! I don't own any Mac lipsticks, although I work at a department store which gives me discount for Mac products but there's too many shades to choose from hahah! I'm so indecisive! Great review! x

    1. Awww, you are so, so sweet. That's so lovely of you! Really? That actually is so nice for me to hear because I've always felt a little insecure with super light pinks on myself.
Haha oh my gosh, girl, get onto that! I feel like the discount makes it more than justifiable! I picked up these ones during duty free shopping :) But, I do get what you mean, the shade selection is overwhelming to say the least! :P

I've only recently felt 'brave' enough to properly embrace more bold colours so love that you've done a little review here! Have really been tempted to try out Mac lipsticks for myself so now I have no excuse not to ;)

    1. Thank you, Ana!!! I totally get you! I've always stuck to such nude, normal colours (and the odd red every now and then), but it's definitely fun to try out and embrace something a bit different every now and then :) I had never tried any MAC lipsticks before, but I have to say I do quite like them now :)

Ohhh my gosh, girl, this is such a fab haul, and thank you so much for mentioning me, yay! :) <3 I absolutely loved this post and I really hope you do more beauty posts in the future! :) All the shades you picked are absolutely lovely, but I'd have to go with Dubonnet as my favourite one on you. The deep red shade is just so classy and feminine, and I really like the sheen finish! You really can't go wrong with MAC lippies. :) Thank you for sharing, and I hope you're well. Kisses. x

  14. Hi girlie, just found your blog and I'm really loving it : )
My fave out of these shades has got to be Hot Gossip. It looks really pretty and even prettier on you! :) I own three shades myself and they're all kind of nudes (Hue, Brave & Faux) so I'm definitely going to have to look more into they're darker shades next :)
    Have a lovely day!

  18. Congrats on your first MAC lipsticks :D ( I have yet to gain that achievement haha. We have MAC here, but it is just so expensive)
Dubonnet is beautiful. I like all of them, but Dubonnet is just perfection.
I laughed so hard to that eyeliner text XD That is so true! Liquid eyeliner is my holy grail in makeup haha,I use it every day. And when I'm done with it, then I can relax and put everything else (don't you just hate it when you blend multiple eyeshadow colours perfectly and then mess up your eyeliner so you have to do it all over again? *shudders* ) :D
Thumbs up for this post and I hope you will do more of these ^^

THE EYELINER THING IS SO TRUE. Hahaha, I can relate so hard, I always use eyeliner! Oh my gosh, right!?!?! And I am not that great at eyeshadow to begin with, so it is just so upsetting when that happen! :/ Haha, struggles, am I right? :P
Awww thank you, hopefully the odd post here and there, for sure :)
