Whenever I think about this, it makes me SO happy. I think one of the most
beautiful things about our existence as human beings is that we always have the
potential to make someone's day. ALWAYS. It is such an amazing capability that
each and every one of us possesses - and we should definitely use it a whole
lot!
I work
in retail and constantly have customers coming in and out of the store; this
one girl came in recently wearing a floppy hat as an accessory, kind of like
this:
As soon
as she walked in I told her, "I'm so jealous that you can pull that off,
you look so stylish and pretty!", and she got SO happy. Before she left,
she came to me to say thank you again and that I made her day. It was so
sweet.
(I
compliment customers in the store on the daily - about the most random things
too! This guy was wearing epic socks, only reason I noticed was because they
had one of my favourite paintings on them, so I told him. He started telling me
all about where he got it from and why he likes Van Gogh.)

I am
100% the girl who will message someone on tumblr being like, "Your blog. I
LOVE IT"; someone who put a photo on social media saying, "I really
admire your views on the courage award controversy that you posted"; tell
a girl at a party that I think she's absolutely gorgeous.
Why not?
I think it's nice for people to be complimented, be appreciated and be
acknowledged for just how awesome they are.
I tend
to compliment people I don't know very well a fair bit, maybe I'm just weird
like that…haha - but I also know that at times I can neglect complimenting
those closest to me, even though I do try my best!
I
was with my mum the other day when she got a phone call from work, and
hearing her talk about all types of professional things - it made me so proud;
I didn't know if I had ever said that to her openly before - and when I did,
she said that meant the most.
One day
at work, I gave this to my boss and she posted it on her Instagram later:
Sometimes
in the middle of random message conversations with my friends I'll be like,
"You're kind of the greatest", "I admire you SO much, and this
is why", or "You're doing SO well".
If my
friend ever sends me a photo of themselves from a party or for an opinion - if
I think they look pretty, I am going to make it 100% known to them! (Usually
with a bucketload of emojis... :P)

The other day
though, my friend sent me this:
I was super tired out by the end of that day, and that message -
it made everything worth it. To this friend, who's probably reading this right
now ;) Thank you again ❤️
A while
back I changed my profile photo, and one of my younger cousins messaged me
saying, "Looking very beautiful" - and it was the Cutest.
Thing. Ever.
I've
been blessed with some lovely random compliments, and I hope I do the same for
other people just as much.
Speaking
of which...for you guys reading this right now - thank you so much.
I so
appreciate you taking that little bit of time out of your day to read what I've
created, whether it's just a bunch of photos or something more meaningful.
Every view, comment and/or message I've received - thank you, it means more
than you know.
The fact
that you took time to connect with what I'm thinking or feeling, it shows that
you are a very kind, attentive and friendly individual. You're awesome. Thank

try and throw around a bunch of compliments to people! Because, why not!?!
Random

DeleteWow I love that you're such a sweet person and give out so many compliments. I try to be like that too because I know excited and happy I get when a stranger compliments me :).
ReplyDeleteOh and if Starry Nights by Van Gough you should get the "Shooting for the stars" bath bomb from Lush (unfortunately they only have it around christmas) but if you use it with a bubble bar it makes you bath water look so much like the paniting! That's actually why it's my favorite!
